Calendar Moments!
We asked you to send in some of your favorite calendar moments and you listened! They are some really
great ones below! Read on and have some fun!
The calander is great, I just got my third one and it is part of the upright freezer door. I use a different color pencil for each member of the family, there are six in the household. At first I would put the name and event in that person color. Now I just use the color for the event and ecah member knows their color. Even the 3 yr old GD. She is orange, 7yr GS is purple and so on. The stickers are great. I just received the studant stlickers and they are just what we need. Thanks. No I am not a young flybaby, I am a 64 yr old grandmother that finally is learning how to clean house, at 15 mins at a time. And how to use a calander.
Thank you, Thank you , Thank you.

Nothing dramatic, but thanks to my calendar-checking habit I realized in time that it was my brother's birthday and was able to at least send him a birthday email
I had a great calendar moment just yesterday. My 5-year-old DD was invited to her first ever birthday party by a school friend. She proudly came home from school clutching a Winnie the Pooh party invitation and I immediately jotted down the time AND address on the special day, finishing it off with a party sticker so she could count down the days. That was two weeks ago before the school vacation and yesterday, when I asked her to go and fetch her invitation to check the address as we headed out of the door, she had a major panic as she announced she couldn't find it, she'd left it on her bedside table but now it wasn't there and now she wouldn't be able to go to the party. As her big blue eyes filled with tears, I hopped up the stairs to the bedroom and looked at the address I'd noted down. We were there right on time and she had the time of her life !

Hi there,
I am a born organized kind of person,, and I love knowing what it going on and when. Last year I took your advice and started assigning colours to individual people in our house. It worked. This year I insisted that we get a new calendar as soon as I could get one. I transfered everything over, and hung it it a new location - in the dining room. It is where we eat and we can sit and ponder what is happening for the day, week, month. We can see it from the kitchen and the living room as well. This week my children knew what day was library day for them and they put their books in their backpack without having to be reminded because I wrote library in their color. How simple is that?! Why didn't I think of that?
Thank you passing on the blessing that God has given to you.

I bought the calendar and student stickers mostly for my twin DSs (3yrs), I have a planner that I use, but wanted something for them. I use the stickers for our events so they know what we are doing. We started going to a Child Development and Family Discovery class on Thursdays so I put the "School Event" sticker in the box. Well one Thursday Dear Grandma (my MIL) came to visit and we had school. We were going to go to school and she stay at our house 'till we got back.
Well one of my DSs started crying because he wanted to stay with DG!! He went over to the calendar and started to pick at the sticker crying and saying, "NO, I don't want to so to school today!!!"
I guess he thought if the sticker was gone there would be no school and he could stay home and play with his DG! It was cute and I had to laugh to myself! We did make it to school fine, we just reassured him she would be here when we got home. And there she was when we got home with lunch started, because I had it planned and ready to go.
Thank You FlyLady and Crew for all that you do!!

Dear FlyLady,
My husband has come up with an unusual use for our calendar that simply wouldn't work with a smaller one.
He has had diabetes for 30+ years now & needs to keep track of his blood sugars closely. This fall he's had problems with regulating his morning blood sugars, and he takes his blood sugar 4 times a day. So on the calendar it goes, and then when he calls them into the doctor's office, he can give the dates and read the blood sugars right off the calendar! And there's still lots of room for appointments etc.!

Over the years I've told my boys that "It doesn't exist if it isn't on the calendar." Being a SHE, it applies for me as well. My calendar is beautiful, with all the different colors for all the family members writing their schedules and appointments. I put out bills' due dates and amounts on the calendar, too, to make sure I pay them on time. Menus also go up so everyone can see what we're having.
DH and I went out to dinner on our anniversary this year - for the first time in our 8-year marriage! We used to forget (both of us, no hurt feelings, but ...) but this year, we saw the sticker on the calendar, and off we went.
Thanks, Flylady!
Last night I was talking on the phone at the kitchen sink while DH read the paper nearby. As I was agreeing to a committee meeting he suddenly shouted "No, you can't do it, the calendar has something for that time!" I looked and sure enough, we had another engagement. Another disaster averted by those big blocks in the Flylady calendar that you can read from the kitchen table. Besides, in the olden days DH was totally oblivious to not only my appointments but his own. Now he's a calendar lover.

haven't had a regular time for my Weekly Home Blessing (actually I'm just referring to the blessing the floors part). So one day I put the sticker on that very day, and made myself do it, before I could go to bed, so then I felt so good, I gave myself a star right on the sticker. So I scheduled the next one, for the night before my day off. I had a massage appointment scheduled (usually I feel REALLY relaxed and unmotivated after my body massage) so I blessed our floors before I went to bed the night before--you know, it takes only about 20 minutes! As that husband said..if it's on the calendar, it usually will happen!
Thanks , Flycrew, for the encouragement! Flybaby M.
Dear FlyLady;
Before we bought the FlyLady calendar, my poor husband NEVER knew what was going on. I have a Palm Pilot and everything was in there, but obviously he rarely ever saw it! Now that we have the calendar, my husband knows what's going on, even when I forget to tell him about a particular event (and with my scattered brain, that is quite often!)
Also, my kids love seeing their activites listed and it helps them look forward to things.
Thanx!
