Music to FLY By
We had a request from a member for a listing of music to "FLY by", so FlyLady asked you for your favorite FLYing music. Well... my inbox overflowed! I received thousands of emails. This list is just a small (very small) sample of the suggestions. Thank-you to everyone who helped us out! Enjoy and Happy FLYing!
You may be embarrassed to admit you love this music, but....
you are not alone! This list is my favorite (I have many of these albums - my husband calls it girl music), but when I load ABBA up in my "boombox" I can't help but start to smile and move (and sing along)!
The Classicals
The Tchaikovsky: 1812 Overture/ Marche Slave This is one of FlyLady's favorite!
|
Offenbach: Gaîté Parisienne - Orpheus in the Underworld - Voyage to the Moon Another one of FlyLady's personal favorites!
|
Mozart: Mass In C Minor, K.427 : Mass No. 17 for soloists, chorus & orchestra in C minor (fragment, "Great Mass"), K. 427 (K. 417a) |
Andre Reiu's "Fiesta"! One of my absolute favorites is Andre Reiu's "Fiesta"! It is classical but
very upbeat! My children enjoy patriotic and marches to work by, Again, very upbeat.
|
Fiddler on The Roof (Motion Picture): Fiddler on The Roof soundtrack is the one for me. Once the kids hear that blasting, I'm a cleaning............ |
Schubert's Quintet: Schubert's "Trout Quintet" is my favorite motivating piece! Perhaps FlyLady knows that he wrote it while trout fishing in Austria...you can "hear" him flyfishing in the rhythm and notes! It's wonderful! - Flying in Minneapolis |
Liszt Hungarian Rhapsodies, Les Préludes - Karajan, Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 4 is a great energizer. My kids also like to do their homework to it. |
Music Twilight of the Gods The Essential Wagner
Collection For serious flinging, there is nothing like Wagner's The Ride of
the Valkyries. You can HEAR those flings in it!! |
By Popular Request....There Were Many Requests for These Favorites!
Dixie Chicks "FLY": Every Monday for the Home Blesssing it's just me and the Dixie Chicks, the cd is "Fly".
Lakewood Ohio
What better CD than the Dixie Chicks CD called "Fly" !!!! It is upbeat, fast moving (mostly) country music that I absolutely love to clean by. I'm just a fly baby myself and last year my husband bought me (my request) a cordless headphone. So now I can "fly" through my cleaning listening to my favorite CD without 1) bothering the rest of the family with loud music 2) I can hear over my vacuum 3) without cords attached to get caught/tangled! By the time the CD is done, I've cleaned my house and have enjoyed listening, uninterrupted, to my favorite CD. - Rhode Island |
Garth Brooks "Double Live": Anything by Garth Brooks will make you want to sing along and FLY through your house! |
Shania Twain "Come on Over":Favorite CD to bless my home by is Shania Twains "Come on Over" and the title song "Man! I feel like a Woman" is the best to get anybody's franny moving. |
Bon Jovi "Bounce": When FlyLady appeared on the Today show in October, they were the band for the Concert in the Plaza. These guys performed in the cold, pouring rain for thousands of fans that had lined up for hours! Bon Jovi gave them the show they deserved! They were soaking wet and still rocked on! |
Barenaked Ladies: Disc 1: All Their Greatest Hits (1991 - 2001) "It's all been Done" makes me want to jump up and down and then FLY through the house! |
Santanna: Supernatural This album rocks on every track! It makes you want to fling all the bad cd's you ever owned! |
Christian Music
Point of Grace "Free to Fly" This is one of Kelly's favorites! She likes to boogie her way through blessing her home! |
Michael W. Smith Worship Another one of Kelly's favorites - she says there is no way that you can stay seated on your franny with this powerful FLYing music! |
Steven Curtis Chapman, Signs of Life Steven Curtis Chapman has many songs that get my franny moving, but Signs of Life is particularly appropriate for FLYing in that it talks about our homes and all the stuff that's sometimes laying around as just signs of life we should be grateful for! Check it out!

Newsboys Shine: The Hits Whether you're a devoted Newsboys fan or you've only heard a small amount of their music, there's much to enjoy on Shine: The Hits. |
WOW Orange: Today's 30 Most Powerful Worship Songs
My 2 DD (4 and 8) and I like to clean to the WOW Worship Orange CD. The
music is uptempo, loud, and fun. We clean the house and praise the Lord
at the same time--giving a whole new meaning to "house blessing"!
- in Bicknell, IN |
Anoited Hi! I am a new flybaby - but you can't help moving when you play ANOINTED's CD - ANOINTED! (see link below). It is a Contemporary Christian CD - and it will definately get your franny moving - and get rid of any whining that may be lurking inside! The first song - Revive Us - is my favorite! Have a listen and see what you think! |
Children's FLYing Music
ShrekMy DD (7 & 9 yo)and I love to clean to the music from the Shrek movie. When it comes on they know to come fetch their feather duster or windex and paper towels! |
Tarzan It is my favorite get busy and get working music. It upbeat, fast-paced and just long enough. When the CD is getting to the end so am I. |
Songs from Jim Henson's Bear in the Big Blue House [SOUNDTRACK] I love “Clean Up the House” Song on the CD Songs from The Bear In The Big Blue House. It is great! It is much more enjoyable than the Barney song, and my kids even pitch in when I put it on. I play it twice and that is about 5 minutes work. We do our 5 minute room rescue to that sometimes. |
