Dear Friends,
Sometimes 15 minutes is too long when you don't think you have time.
This is why we are going to exercise some 5 minute FlyBys for Peace
to get us ready for the holidays.
This is a fun tool to keep us focused and doing something, instead of
whining. There are lots of things around the house that only take a
few short minutes to do. Over the next three weeks we are going to do
three 5-minute Flybys a day. Do you understand this? We are going to
keep it simple. There will not be a long explanation of how to do
this; I just want you to set your timer and jump in. This is going to
help you get rid of the clutter so that you will have more peace this
holiday season.
Keep in mind we are throwing things away and donating things. You
cannot organize clutter; you can only get rid of it. This clutter has
been holding you hostage. When you finish with your three 5 minute
FlyBys then go post the pounds you tossed out. I don't care if it is
just one pound. If you tossed something that just the act of getting
rid of it brought you Peace, then please send it to us;
FlyCrew@flylady.net and put PEACE in the subject line.
Set your timer for 5 minutes; Go to your living room. Use this short
5 minutes to clear off one of your coffee tables.
You can do this. This surface clutter makes our home look dirtier
than they really are?
Your next 5 minute FlyBy is to go to your kitchen and clean off a hot
spot on your kitchen counter.
The final 5 minute FlyBy is to go to your bedroom and clear off your
chair.
The main thing that keeps our house looking good is picking up after
ourselves.
5 Minute FlyBys are going to make way for Peace this holiday season.

Kitchen: Empty dishwasher/shine your sink
Living Room: Clear off the top of another end table.
Bathroom: Clear off the counter top and wipe it down.
You can do this; Getting in the habit of doing 5 minute FlyBys before
bed is going to turn CHAOS into Peace! I promise.
